On Saturday 3rd October the Regional Disability Development Squad met for their first squad training session at the Dolphin Centre in Darlington.
Fifteen talented swimmers from across the region took part in the session.
This allowed the swimmers to bond as a team and enhance the training that they already do in their own club.
The Squad will be competing in November at the International Short Course Championships at Sheffield and at Swansea in December at the Welsh Long Course National Championships.
The Squad are “Swimming the English Channel” throughout the month of October to raise funds for the swimmers when they are away competing around the country. Every session they attend, their home coaches will sign off their session metres until they have completed the distance.
