Gateshead Synchronised Swimming Club with their swim21 certificate and medals.
Gateshead Synchronised Swimming Club have received national recognition for high quality standards by being awarded ASA swim21 accreditation, recognising their commitment to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their swimmers and non-swimming members.
The club has worked closely with the ASA North East and Gateshead Council to develop a club structure that will help create great opportunities for synchronised swimming in Gateshead for years to come. Special thanks to Trevor Kelly, Helen Lobley and Brenda Rochester from the club who worked hard to put together the successful submission.
The club celebrated achieving the prestigious award with an excellent team performance at the Leeds Kingfishers Synchro Competition with the Open Age Team finishing in bronze position. Success also came from Skill Level 1 duet who took the top two positions in the competition event. Gold went to the duet partnership of Bethany Foster and Rebecca Eneas, with team mates Caitlin Jefferson and Sophie Caygill taking the silver. In the Skill Level 2 duet bronze medals were awarded to Erika Williams and Ellie Purdy.
The recent successes have also attracted sponsorship from local company DMG Control Systems Ltd who are now proud sponsors of Gateshead Synchro and will be providing the team with a new kit.
Congratulations to the girls on their performance which reflects the commitment from the club in achieving high levels not only within competition but from the club as a whole.
